Welcome from Amelia Campos, MD
Providing psychiatric care for women and families in Kentucky
Spes is the Latin word for hope. At Spes Psychiatry, we know that hope and healing are essential to a happy, fulfilling life. We want to work with you to reach that goal.
With advances in telemedicine, you are now able to see a psychiatrist from the comfort, convenience, and privacy of your home. All appointments are conducted via telemedicine with the physician only. Dr. Campos will take the time to get to know you or your child and work with you to develop a treatment plan that addresses your individual needs. Dr. Campos is experienced in treating depression, anxiety, OCD, PTSD, bipolar disorder, ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, peripartum mood and anxiety disorders, adjustment disorders, and other mental health concerns. Treatment may include medications, brief psychotherapy, and referrals for other services.
Psychiatric Services
We are not in-network with any insurance carriers. This allows for longer and more frequent appointments with all treatment decisions being made by you and your doctor. We can provide you with the documentation needed to request reimbursement through your out-of-network benefits. At this time, Dr. Campos cannot see any patients who are covered by Medicare, even if they wish to pay out of pocket. Due to federal regulations, Dr. Campos currently does not prescribe controlled substances such as stimulants (Concerta, Focalin, Adderall, Vyvanse, etc.), benzodiazepines (Xanax, Klonopin, Ativan, Valium), or opioids.
Initial Evaluation (60 minutes)
At the initial appointment, we will review your current symptoms and concerns, and well as your past psychiatric and medical history. For children, the child and all legal guardians should be present for this appointment. It is helpful to have documentation of medical and educational evaluations and concerns available for the initial evaluation. We will work together to formulate an initial treatment plan, which we will carefully reevaluate at each session afterwards.
Follow-up (20-25 minutes)
At follow-up appointments, we will review any changes since our last session and make appropriate adjustments to our treatment plan, including medication management.
Follow-up (50 minutes)
Longer follow-up appointments allow for more detailed discussion of symptoms and time for brief psychodynamic or supportive psychotherapy, as well as medication management.
